The most recent Dragon Ball movie has succeeded as it focuses on many different plots that were unveiled to the audience in the Dragon Ball Super manga at the time. The movie is a 2022 Japanese animated martial arts fantasy adventure film, directed by Tetsuro Kodama, produced by Toei Animation, and written by Dragon Ball series creator Akira Toriyama. In the film, Piccolo and his former student Gohan head on a mission to save the world from the newly reformed Red Ribbon Army.
This movie gave quite a lot of importance to the character of Piccolo as he goes through a different transformation and gets more powerful than ever. Christopher Sabat, the English dub actor who not only plays the role of Vegeta but also played the role of Piccolo for more than 20 years talked about the level of security and arrangements that were made before the dubbing of the movie.
Christopher Sabat Had to Sign an NDA for Dragon Ball Super Movie
In an interview with ComingSoon, Piccolo’s VA Sabat explained the excitement he had for the movie. After all one of his characters gets a big power-up that might have been the most anticipated moment in the Dragon Ball Series. He also explained the level of security and arrangements that were made to keep the movie a secret. He said:
“It was phenomenal. I could not believe it. I remember there was a moment when the producers at Crunchyroll brought me in to work on the film. It was very, very hush-hush. I literally had to sign an NDA within 15 feet in that building, and we watched the preliminary version of it on a producer’s laptop in a locked room, with security guards outside. I could not believe what I was watching.”
Sabat also explained that he watched the movie with the Producer of Crunchyroll in a locked room with security guards. He also stated that he had to sign an NDA within 15 feet of that building.

Christopher Sabat Explained Piccolo’s Power-Up
Sabat also stated that the movie had perfectly presented the scenario required for Piccolo’s power-up. He explained how Piccolo doesn’t rely on Vegeta or Goku and figures out the strategy on his own. He said:
“It was the most incredible way to present Piccolo: put him in a situation where he doesn’t have Goku and Vegeta to rely on and he has to use his own strategy to figure out how to make things happen. It was not only wonderful from a power-up standpoint to finally see him get an upgrade that he’s desperately needed for about 20 years. It was really cool to see his relationship with Gohan and his family.”
Sabat was happy to finally see Piccolo get an upgrade after 20 years and he also got to showcase his relationship with Gohan and his family, especially Pan.
