In recent years, celebrities have been looking for a side business apart from their well-established acting career. Hollywood A-listers like Mark Wahlberg, Ryan Reynolds, and several others are thus joining the liquor lineup. In 2019, Breaking Bad co-stars Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston also started following in these footsteps.
Continuing to build their friendship after the end of Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston went ahead to work together on their spirits line, Dos Hombres Mezcal. Enjoying the journey from being co-stars to business partners, Paul claimed it’s like a dream come true to work with Cranston.
Aaron Paul And Bryan Cranston Follow in Ryan Reynolds’ Footsteps
Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston have gotten closer than ever, as they turned their friendship into being business partners. After sharing the screen in the crime drama series Breaking Bad, the duo continued to build a friendship and venture into the business of liquors.
Following Ryan Reynolds and Mark Wahlberg’s footsteps of launching a liquor lineup, Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston came up with Dos Hombres Mezcal. Turning their on-screen “mentor-mentee” relationship into a real-life connection, the pair discussed with Esquire, how they started working together on their liquor company.
“In our show, we have a mentor-mentee relationship. But Aaron’s the guy who’s really the brains of the [Dos Hombres] output. He started it all. It was his idea.” Cranston stated.
Speaking fondly of Aaron Paul, Bryan Cranston mentioned how the business was all Paul’s idea. Cranston admitted simply following his co-star’s vision and leaving the business in his hands, while himself being the cover girl. “He knows more about business than I do. Someone has to be the cover girl, and that’s me.” Cranston shared.
Working With Bryan Cranston is a Dream Come True For Aaron Paul
Certainly, the duo developed an incredible bond, after turning their onscreen relationship into being business partners. Aaron Paul mentioned how he had been dreaming of working with Bryan Cranston in real life. Enjoying the journey and the offscreen relationship, Paul mentioned being close friends with Cranston.
“He became one of my closest friends – Someone I can confide in. And when [Breaking Bad] was done, it was a very hard goodbye.”
Eventually, Aaron Paul came up with the idea of doing business with Bryan Cranston and continuing their friendship. Finding the opportunity to reconnect off-screen by starting the lineup of Dos Hombres, Paul immediately took the chance and jumped in.
“I say it every time I’m with him. I love this man so much. I get so incredibly emotional. He is truly a father figure, an older brother figure, that I just love and adore so much, and the fact we get to kind of be in cahoots again…It’s a f—ing dream. It’s truly a dream.”
Creating Dos Hombres, not only allowed the stars to continue their friendship but also helped them get in touch with the community where their mezcal is sourced. Since then, both actors have been supporting the community.
