Oscar Isaac is a man of immense talent. From playing some stellar roles in smaller, indie movies, to becoming a schizophrenic superhero in the MCU, Isaac has shown his acting prowess in every role he has taken upon himself. In 2021, the actor took on the role of Duke Leto Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part One. Giving off regal vibes, the actor made a mark with his part in the story that is soon to release its second part with Timothée Chalamet in the lead.

Duke Leto Atreides is the father of the story’s protagonist – Paul Atreides. And as the leader of the House Atreides, Oscar Isaac gave an amazing performance alongside the rest of the cast. But as the story of Dune: Part One ends, we see the Duke’s story also coming to an end at the hands of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, played phenomenally by Stellan Skarsgård. And since he won’t be able to continue his story in the next part of the trilogy, Isaac left a gift for the director of the movie – Denis Villeneuve.

Oscar Isaac’s Parting Gift For His Dune Director

Oscar Isaac‘s story as Duke Leto Atreides comes to an end in Dune: Part One, when he is defeated by his archenemy, Baron Vladimir Harkonnen. As the actor recalls filming his final scene in the movie, he talks to EW about how everything went down.

“Everything about it was just so scary. He’s been stripped of his clothing. There was some thought, I think originally, like, ‘he doesn’t have to be naked.’ I was like, ‘No, he should be naked, man.’ It’s like Christ on the cross kind of moment. So we came up with a few different ideas of what his posture would be. That’s where we came up with that great idea of seeing the bull’s head, this motif that’s been never talked about really or explained. It’s just been traveling along with him as this omen. And then just getting, finally, to have a chance to play with Stellan Skarsgård as the bear, and that was just incredible.”

But even though they were filming such an intense scene, the actor’s did not forget to have their fun. Isaac more than most, who left a pretty inappropriate parting gift for his director. Talking about how he left his c*ck sock in Villeneuve’s pocket, Isaac said,

“At one point, when Denis wasn’t looking, I may have left my c–k sock in his pocket, just so he just had a little bit of me next to him when I left. Just a little, musty handkerchief.”

Denis Villeneuve surely had an incredible reaction to finding such a parting gift from one of his cast members.

Dune: Part Two Is Upon Us

After the success of Dune: Part One, it was no surprise when the director and the studios announced a second part, which soon became a trilogy. Dune: Part Two cast is currently busy doing press tours, promoting the movie, which will be released in less than a week. The early reviews are in, and critics have nothing but rave reviewes for the sequel to the 2021 movie.

Dune: Part Two will see Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård and a few others from the first movie being joined by some new faces. Austin Butler and Florence Pugh, along with Christopher Walken have joined the cast in prominent roles, and Butler’s performances is being hailed as one of the best negative portrayals since Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight and their Dune co-star, Xavier Bardem in No Country for Old Men.

Dune: Part Two is set to release in theatres on March 1, 2024.
