John Stamos has some nice words to say about Matthew Perry. Stamos, who made a surprise cameo during the ninth season of Friends where he played Chandler’s co-worker Zack remembers Perry’s kindness on the set of the hit sitcom.
Perry, who got to fame after his famous portrayal of Chandler Bing on Friends, was found dead in his Los Angeles hot tub on 28 October, at the age of 54. And, as many stars took to their social media to share their thoughts, Stamos joined them and recalled how Perry saved him from embarrassment.
John Stamos’s Heartwarming Remembrance
John Stamos, the Full House alum shared a sweet story about Matthew Perry from the set of Friends. After a few days of the tragic death, Stamos gave his tribute to Perry in an Instagram post.
“Matthew and I had been friendly long before Friends. So, when I guest starred as Zach, the prospective sperm donor for Chandler and Monica, I hung with him a lot,” Stamos recalled.
“Standing backstage, ready to make my entrance, Matt whispers, ‘The audience is going [to] go crazy when they see you! Get ready for some loud screams.’ I walk through the door … silence. I was so embarrassed.”
He continued:
“We finish the scene and as I start to slither back to my dressing room and quit showbiz, Matt walks over to the studio audience: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for John Stamos! You guys probably didn’t recognise him at first because [he’s] so much better looking in person!’“
He added: “I never forgot that and the world will never forget you.”

Friends’ lead stars – Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer shared their feelings in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE. The joint statement said:
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” the cast said. “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”
The statement added that in the coming days, they would share more.
“In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
