Gwyneth Paltrow has been having a field day transitioning from her high-profile acting career to being the CEO of a wellness brand. However, the transition from Hollywood to the corporate world has not been without its sacrifices, something Paltrow seems to have mastered.
Speaking to Deadline, Paltrow revealed that it had been a while since she had watched any of the Marvel films, even the ones that have become a cultural phenomenon. The actress opened up about her experience as a CEO, and also how she has lost touch with Marvel property.
Gwenyth Paltrow is yet to watch Avengers: Endgame
Paltrow talked to Deadline about how long it has been since the actress watched a Marvel film. The actress has largely been on hiatus, focusing on her wellness brand, Goop, with her last film being Avengers: Endgame. She said:
“To be honest, I stopped watching them at some point. I’ve never seen Endgame. I can’t keep track of who’s what. But I probably should at some point”
While one would assume starring in one of the biggest films might tempt her to watch it as well, Paltrow appears immune to the hype surrounding the MCU. The actress reminisced about the first Iron Man film, claiming that it was different from the rest of the MCU.
Iron Man scenes were figured out the day they were to be shot
Iron Man starred Paltrow as Pepper Potts, alongside Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. The film was directed by Jon Favreau, and it was allegedly approached as an indie film. Regarding the production of the feature, Paltrow said:
“We improvised almost every scene of that movie. We would write scenes in the morning in Jon’s trailer. It was like doing an independent film. Then the movie was such a huge hit that then we didn’t make them like that anymore”
Paltrow seems to have her hands full with her wellness company, Goop, giving her less time to think about films and the industry in general. The actress has therefore moved on from Marvel. When asked if she would take another crack at the franchise, she said:
“I never say never. I’m really happy and busy doing what I’m doing. But if one of my best said, please come and do this, maybe I would consider.”
Paltrow might star again in the MCU, with the biggest contenders being Armor Wars and the ever-looming Avengers: Secret Wars.
