George Clooney Was Once Involved In A Serious Motorcycle Crash

Hollywood star George Clooney’s love for motorcycles and cars is well documented. But the actor almost lost his life once while indulging in his passion. While filming in Sardinia, Italy for his Hulu miniseries Catch 22, Clooney decided to arrive on set on a motorcycle on a particular day. Unfortunately, he came into contact with a car speeding at 70 miles an hour from the opposite end which resulted in both vehicles crashing into each other. Miraculously, both Clooney and the other driver were unharmed but the incident made a huge dent in the Syriana actor’s confidence. Recalling the incident later in a humorous vein, Clooney said,

“I was just waiting for the switch to turn off because I broke his windshield with my head, and I thought, ‘OK, well, that’s my neck’. That was a really fun time. I’ve learned that I really, actually, cannot fly. I learned that lesson really well,”

George Clooney gave up on motorcycles after a serious accident

The accident shook George Clooney up so much that it made him decide to never ride a motorcycle again despite having riding experience of over 40 years. The actor said that he was grateful to be alive while stating that his wife Amal Clooney was also relieved that his motorcycle days were behind him.

George Clooney Has An Enviable Car Collection

George Clooney’s love story with motorcycles may have ended after a near-fatal accident but the star’s affinity for luxury cars is still intact. Clooney is known to possess a unique collection of cars, some vintage and some modern, which are his pride and joy. Among the many models that he owns, two of them are also special to the star personally.

One unique vehicle in Clooney’s car collection is a 1959 C1 Corvette which actually belonged to his father who had originally bought it to impress his wife. On the opposite end of the spectrum, he received a spectacular modern Porsche 911 GT3 RS as a gift from his wife Amal Clooney on his 54th birthday which expectedly is also one of his most loved cars.
