In an interview with HuffPost, Ellen Barkins commented on how she was frustrated with all the misogyny and s*exual comments in the industry.

“The truth is, I am 68 years old. I don’t give a f*ck. I’m fresh out of all my f*cks.”

She talks about one of the most discussed topics of the industry, that is, the trial of Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp, she called The Secret Window actor “controlling,” “jealous,” and “demanding” during their relationship in the 1990s. The actress was “proud” because the lawyers chose her to testify, she stated that Depp never assaulted her but there was violence in his eyes, and she has seen him strangle an Assistant Director and throw a wine bottle.

 “I’ve never met Amber Heard in my life, but I know what I know about Johnny Depp. He never touched me, but I saw violence. I saw him strangle an AD [assistant director]. He did throw a wine bottle. But I didn’t feel at the time that [testifying] was an act of bravery. I felt it’s just what you do.” 

This statement by Barkins has startled the fans because Depp is known as one of the calmest and kindest people in Hollywood, moreover Heard had similar allegations against the actor.

How did The Court Case Affect Amber Heard and Johnny Depp?

The legal trouble immensely affected Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. For The Pirates of the Caribbean actor, the allegations made by Heard have ruined his public image, and the actor was dropped from several franchises such as Pirates of the CaribbeanFantastic Beasts, and other film projects in which there were talks, and he was put on hold for some projects. He faced a lot of backlash from the fans and the media which affected the actor.

Amber Heard also faced severe hate and criticism from the public and fans of the actor because she was allegedly trying to ruin Depp as an actor. The actor also stated that Amber Heard has lied under oath and provided fabricated evidence in the courtroom.

The case settled with Amber Heard to pay $15 million to Johnny Depp, $10 million in compensatory damages, and $5 million in punitive damages, while Depp was ordered to $2 million in compensatory damages to the actress. After recent settlements, the amount Heard has to pay is brought down to $1 million and Depp stated he would donate the same.
