Talking about one of her favorite movies, Keira Knightley revealed how she had to stand on a plank for two days in the cold weather! The actress further continued that while jumping off from the plank, the long dress went over her head and she showed off her knickers!

Starring in the 2003 film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Keira Knightley was over the moon when she was cast in the role. Talking about how the film was physically exhausting, Keira Knightley revealed some interesting details about the shoots.
In an iconic scene in The Curse of the Black Pearl, Knightley revealed that she had to stand on a wooden plank off the Black Pearl for two whole days. In the book, The Secret World of Johnny Depp, it was revealed that the actress shared that when she hit the water, the dress she was wearing went over her head and she showed her knickers!
“I’ve been standing up here for two days! Do you really think I’m not going to jump off this thing? So I jumped in that long dress. I was terrified. I screamed my head off. The only interesting bit was when I hit the water and the dress went over my head, so I showed off my knickers”.
She further continued,
“I was so girly but I was proud of myself. I don’t know what I must have looked like.”
Although she had the time of her life shooting the Pirates movie, Keira Knightley had once stated that before joining the iconic franchise, she thought that it was probably going to be a terrible mistake.
Keira Knightley Thought Pirates of the Caribbean Was A Mistake
Before starring in the role of Miss Elizabeth Swann, Knightley was working on her 2003 film, Love, Actually. During the filming, the actress was presented with the opportunity with the Pirates movie, and director Richard Curtis revealed to The Daily Beast that Knightley thought that she made a terrible mistake!
“With Keira, it was only her second film and I remember talking to her while we were shooting and asking her what she was doing next and she said, ‘Oh it’s going to be terrible and I’ve probably made a terrible mistake but I’m doing this pirates movie.’”
Starring in The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise only helped Knightley solidify her career in Hollywood as the actress went on to star in many movies like Pride and Prejudice and The Imitation Game. The Keira Knightley starrer franchise is currently available to stream on Disney+ in the U.S.
