The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, and Michael Keaton, will run into theaters soon. It will hope to revive fan interest in the DC franchise after Henry Cavill’s Superman, or rather the entire Snyderverse, failed to make a mark. Word of mouth seems to be great surrounding the film, but not everyone is happy about it.

Fans of Zack Snyder are upset with The Flash because as per rumors, any references to the Snyderverse have been removed in the post-credits scenes. This has apparently been done to give James Gunn a clean slate to start his DCU with. But director Andy Muschietti doesn’t feel that he is disrespecting Zack Snyder in any way.

As per the trailers and teasers released till now, the references to the world Zack Snyder created in the DCEU are quite clear. Zod along with Faora, who were last seen in Man of Steel, are making a comeback in the Ezra Miller-led film. Instead of recasting the characters, Muschietti brought back Michael Shannon and Antje Traue in their respective roles. But that’s not all.

There’s another visible connection between Snyder’s DC universe and The Flash. Sasha Calle’s Supergirl symbol as well as the material used to make her suit seems to be quite reminiscent of Henry Cavill’s suit and symbol. However, fans of Snyderverse aren’t happy that Supergirl has replaced Superman in the film.

Several Henry Cavill fans are upset that their Man of Steel has been allegedly cut out of The Flash in favor of Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. There are also rumors that the Superman cameo that was originally planned and shot for the film has been deleted and now only archival footage from Justice League is being used in The Flash to show Superman.

However, Cavill doesn’t seem to be bothered. He remains a class act and even approved of Sasha Calle when she met him. In an interview with EW, Calle said that she met The Witcher star and was amazed by him. She said:

“Yes, I met him (Henry Cavill). I met him actually after the movie was done, months later. I gave him a big hug. You know, it’s Henry Cavill, man! Our Man of Steel. He is kind and very proper, and it was a great experience.”

That’s not all. The actress who is making her theatrical debut with The Flash said that she sought out his blessings. She said:

“I asked him: ‘Did I make you proud, cuz? Does Superman approve?’ And he was like: ‘Absolutely. You did a phenomenal job.’ I think, to me, that meant the world because it’s Henry Cavill, Man of Steel.”

Many DC fans are lamenting that they will never get to see Henry Cavill and Sasha Calle together as Superman and Supergirl. While Cavill has departed the franchise, Calle’s future is hanging in the balance and will probably be determined by the box office results of The Flash.
