Although now the couple leads a more low-profile life compared to a few years ago, they still maintain a relevant position in society and people respect their opinions a lot.
Michelle Obama opens up about why she married Barrack Obama
Everyone loves the holiday season of Christmas for various reasons but there is a sort of festive vibe at the time that is undeniably enjoyable for everyone. Once in an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jimmy Kimmel asked Michelle Obama if she decorates her house for Christmas herself or not and the American attorney revealed that she is a big-time Christmas decorator. She said,
“I am big into Christmas and I like lots of Christmas decorations. We usually spend Christmas in Hawaii, that’s been our tradition. So because we’re headed there, the trees are being put up so I’m looking at everything going, one more this, one more there, one more wreath, I love Christmas.”
Jimmy Kimmel further went on to ask Michelle Obama if she likes going to Hawaii and the former first lady of America responded in just the perfect way. She further added that one of the reasons that she married Barack Obama was also because he’s from Hawaii. She said,
“Duh, Yeah. Have you met anyone who doesn’t like going to Hawaii, who has been there once?… That’s why I married Barack. He was from Hawaii. I was like, ‘Yeah, you’re kind of cute, Beer’s a little big and you’re from where? I think I love you.'”
Although she does love going to Hawaii now, Michelle Obama talked about the first time she went to Hawaii and it wasn’t at all like what she was expecting.

Jimmy Kimmel further went on to ask Michelle Obama about her first visit to Hawaii and she revealed that the first time she visited Hawaii was around the time of Christmas and it was with Barack Obama to visit his parents. She said,
“After the first summer where we officially started dating and he wanted me to come home meet his family…But I had never been to Hawaii so I had an image of what it would be. The only image I had though was of The Brady Bunch visit. I mean it’s generational. That was the vision that I had. Lays on the beach and Waikiki and some hula dancing.
Unless you are visiting somebody who grew up there, then it’s just going home. I realized that later. So, I’m thinking we’re going to have Mai Tais, long walks on the beach and we drive in from the airport on the highway, we go into the city. I don’t see a beach anywhere, I don’t see Greg Brady in a, you know. I see nothing that I was expecting.”
Michelle Obama further went on to mention that although her first trip wasn’t as much happening as she was expecting, Barack Obama still gave her an important life lesson. It was that family is an important aspect of life which is why he always shows up for his family whenever they need him to.
