Tom Hanks’ Brother Seemingly Confirmed His Return In Toy Story 5

The Toy Story franchise premiered in 1995 as the first fully computer-animated film under Pixar. It earned $370 million globally and immediately became part of everyone’s childhood. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen carried the movies as the voices of the two main characters, Woody and Buzz Lightyear, respectively.

The trilogy gave fans the impression that the famed Toy Story narrative had concluded, but then Toy Story 4 was released almost a decade later, and it offered a nice ending. Now, a fifth sequel is currently in the works, and fans are worried that milking the franchise will only tarnish its reputation.

In a social media post, Tim Allen teased his return as Buzz Lightyear, and this has aroused speculations that Hanks will voice Woody once again. While there is no official confirmation yet, fans know how difficult it is to have another cast lead the franchise. Allen said via Twitter/X:

See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity. And off we go to a number 5! To infinity and beyond!

Meanwhile, during an interview with Jace Diehl on YouTube, Jim Hanks somehow confirmed that his brother is back to voicing Woody. He shared:

I was having lunch with Tom, and we were talking about, you know, and he thought he was done. He said, “Well, Woody’s yours now,” and I went, “Oh, really?” Well, I guess it is, isn’t it? But not so much, and he’s back!

The voice actor’s statement has stirred a buzz among fans, and many gave mixed reactions to the apparent return of Hanks in the franchise.
