While many would think that his work in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows series would be what he enjoyed the most, the answer is absolutely otherwise.

Tom Felton Revealed His ‘Most Enjoyable’ Harry Potter Movie

In an interview with Brit+Co, the 36-year-old actor reflected on his time while shooting the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter novels. Since he has worked in all eight movies, it would be really interesting for him to reveal the movie he enjoyed the most.

Tom Felton didn’t shy away from answering the same by mentioning Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009). It was a prime catalyst in bringing his character, Draco Malfoy’s arc to a different level in the Deathly Hallows series.

He revealed,

“[At the time,] we weren’t privy to where our characters were going so all I did really was just focus on who [Draco] was in that particular film. Which is why shooting Half-Blood Prince was probably the most enjoyable.”

He further reflected on why he has high regard for that particular movie.

“To see the reason why Draco is, well, the way he is, I thought it was very impactful and I’m amazed at the subtleties that fans pick up on now about his story. It’s a very multi-layered character.”

In another interview with Reader’s Digest, the actor whom Emma Watson had a crush on, reflected on his favorite movie from the wizardry saga stating,

“Half-Blood Prince was my favorite as an actor—learning a lot from the wonderful company that I kept there, and being slightly older, obviously.”

However, he also called Chamber of Secrets ‘cool’ since the cast didn’t know the movie would get another installment. But, what about the last two parts of the magical saga? Potterheads must be aware that Malfoy played a significant role in the last two movies and as one would expect, he also has great things to say about it.

While he has high praise for all 8 movies he’d worked in, he called the last part epic. While confirming that his answer would change every time since it would be hard for him to choose any one project, he revealed why he felt great about Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Part 2.

In the same Reader’s Digest interview, he stated,

“To watch the last one is still probably the most epic…They definitely got darker and deeper in storyline as they went on, but the final film for me is the cherry on the cake. They got it perfect.”

It is well known that the Half-Blood Prince‘s events set up the final confrontations in the last two installments. The 2009 movies, the Deathly Hallows series put Malfoy in a difficult situation as his family got involved with Lord Voldemort. His character often shows moral conflict throughout the last two films and eventually takes a different path from his parents at the end of the war.

The Harry Potter franchise is available to stream on Peacock.
