Wahlberg then began his music career when he adopted the stage name Marky Mark and formed a hip-hop group called Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. While he was enjoying the fame that the band brought him, he became the face of Calvin Klein with his infamous photoshoot. The actor posed as an underwear model along with Kate Moss in a photoshoot which saw them both topless. Wahlberg became an actor right after the campaign and it was widely believed that it was the reason for his acting career to take off.

Wahlberg, however, seemed to regret the photoshoot when he appeared on the talk show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. When asked about the campaign and if it led to his acting career, he said,

“I try to forget that too…I don’t think too many serious producers and directors would see that and say, ‘Well that guy looks like a serious actor. Maybe we’ll use him to walk by with his pants down.’”

Mark Wahlberg may regret the photo shoot and want to forget it, but not as much as Kate Moss.

Moss also mentioned that she had severe anxiety after the shoot. She said,

“I had a nervous breakdown when I was 17 or 18 when I had to go and work with Marky Mark and Herb Ritts. It didn’t feel like me at all. I felt really bad about straddling this buff guy…I couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks. I thought I was going to die.”

Moss also mentioned that it got so bad that she went to the doctor who prescribed her Valium and that she did not like the work she was doing at the time.
