Ozzy Osbourne has slammed American rapper Kanye West for using the sample section from a Black Sabbath live performance of Iron Man in 1983. Both Osbourne and his wife Sharon Osbourne have revealed that West had approached them for permission which was denied. Osbourne further clarified that he denied West permission due to the Runaway singer’s anti-semitic stances.
Fans came in support of Osbourne’s decision and criticized West for not respecting the wish of one of the OG rockstars in the music industry. The Flashing Lights singer used the sample section for his studio album, Vultures, in which he debuts alongside Ty Dolla Sign as a hip-hop super duo, ¥$.
Ozzy Osbourne Called Out Kanye West On Social Media For “Stealing”
Ozzy Osbourne took to X to publicly bash Kanye West for the unauthorized usage of a sample from his live performance of Iron Man. On Friday, the Prince of Darkness mistakenly wrote that West used his song, War Pigs, however, the newly reposted X tweet mentioned the song as Iron Man. Osbourne revealed that the rapper had approached him to ask for permission, but he denied it.
Osbourne shared that West is an anti-semite and has caused “untold heartache” to Jewish people with his hurtful remarks. Osbourne’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, had earlier stated that she identified as Jewish as her late father and music manager Don Arden was Jewish. The rockstar further added that West went on to use the sample anyway at his album listening party. Osbourne concluded that he wanted no association with West.
. @KANYEWEST ASKED PERMISSION TO SAMPLE A SECTION OF A 1983 LIVE PERFORMANCE OF “IRON MAN” FROM THE US FESTIVAL WITHOUT VOCALS & WAS REFUSED PERMISSION BECAUSE HE IS AN ANTISEMITE AND HAS CAUSED UNTOLD HEARTACHE TO MANY. HE WENT AHEAD AND USED THE SAMPLE ANYWAY AT HIS ALBUM…

Fans on X poured in support for Osbourne, with one fan commenting that at least one of the ’80s rockers was sane enough to do the right thing. This decision proved to be another reason for a fan to love the “Prince of Darkness” more. One fan thanked him for standing up to the Heartless singer. Others praised him with comments saying not to mess with him and calling him the real Iron Man.
Thank you Ozzy for doing what's right. 🤘
At least some of the 80's rockers that I listened to are still sane.

Kanye West is becoming one of the most divisive figures in the music industry. Apart from his anti-semitic comments, he is also infamously making headlines for his relationship with his wife Bianca Censori. The Yeezy architect was seen in outfits recently that left little to the imagination and her family is accusing the rapper of creating a controlling environment and influencing her (via Daily Mail).
Ozzy Osbourne’s Wife Says Legal Action Is Already In Place
When TMZ caught up with Sharon Osbourne to comment on the ongoing issue with Kanye West, Osbourne went on to state that “Kanye f**ked with the wrong Jew this time.” She revealed that her husband had rejected an offer from West when somebody from his camp reached out three weeks ago. She commented that Ozzy Osbourne rarely refuses people, but this was a “special f**king occasion to say no.”
Sharon Osbourne went on to slam West further, sharing that he “represents hate” and calling him a “disrespectful anti-semite.” She told the news outlet that they had sent the Gold Digger singer a cease and desist notice. The Talk host’s issue with Kanye West is personal after both she and Ozzy Osbourne dressed up as Bianca Censori and West during last Halloween.
West’s anti-semitic comments have already done a lot of damage to his career and reputation. He lost billions in net worth and lost partnerships with GAP, Adidas, and Balenciaga (via Vulture). He currently doesn’t have a record contract either. Interestingly, a controversy sparked in 2021 over Sharon Osbourne’s racially insensitive comments in 2018 (via The Independent) and she exited her gig as The Talk host.
