Sandra Bullock’s decision to take a break from acting is driven by her desire to spend more time with her loved ones and also to challenge herself. Having been fortunate to have a steady career, Bullock has come to the realization that work has become a crutch for her. She described it as constantly looking into an empty fridge, hoping to find something that’s not there.

Overworking to seek validation has continuously left the actress unsatisfied with her success.

“I said to myself, ‘Stop looking for it here because it doesn’t exist here. You already have it; establish it, find it and be OK not having work to validate you,'”

She has learned to stop seeking validation from her work and recognize that she already has what she needs. According to Bullock, it’s essential to establish and find self-assurance within oneself and be comfortable not having work to validate oneself.
