Jason Momoa Talks About The Future Of Aquaman And His Interest In Lobo

In an interview with ET Online, actor Jason Momoa talked about his future as Aquaman. He is aware of the possibility of his exit as the King of Atlantis, and he knows the circumstances do not look encouraging at all:

I don’t necessarily want it to be the end… [but] I don’t think it’s really, like, a choice. The truth of it is, I mean if the audience loves it, then there’s a possibility. But right now, I’m like, ‘It’s not looking too good.’

Meanwhile, Momoa expressed his passion for playing Aquaman. He shared that he has plans for the character, and there are still many things to explore about his world.

I love this character, and [I would want to] play it for a long time. I kind of see where I would want it to go. And even in the next 10 years or so, like there’s a lot of cool things they can do. And I do enjoy the role and the world. So, I mean, it just comes down to if people love it.”

The Fast X star still wishes to be a part of the Warner Bros family, even though he won’t necessarily play Aquaman. When asked which new character he wants to take on, Momoa said he wants to be Lobo:

If there’s a place in their world for me, I would love to be a part of it. This is my home. Warner and DC is definitely my home. So, that’s all I’ll say… I was a big Lobo fan growing up, I read every comic. So that would be really cool.”

Fans are also seeing the potential of Momoa playing DC’s Lobo, so there might be a chance that Gunn would cast him for the part.

Last year, Jason Momoa revealed he’s aware of the rumors that he might get cast as Lobo, which is secretly his dream project. He told CBR:

That would be amazing if [Lobo] happened. I’m just happy that [James] Gunn is at the helm and [Peter] Safran, who is just like my heart. So I’m in good hands, and I think comic book fans around the world are going to be very excited.”

Momoa shared that he loves reading comics, and he has a whole bunch of collection that he’s proud of, so he pretty much knows everything about Lobo:

It’s definitely something I’ve collected my whole life. So, for all the fans who know me will know that I collect this comic book the most. So without giving you anything, if you’re a real fan you’d know what I collect the most, and you can go back in history to find out what I collect the most.”

Only time will tell if DC Studios and Warner Bros would finally cast Momoa as Lobo, but in the meantime, the actor enjoys his stint as Aquaman.
