However, contrary to this, her military experience did not help her with challenging scenes in the DC Extended Universe projects: Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984. Nevertheless, she did justice to her part and effectively played the role, and delivered an award-winning performance. The film and its sequel established her as one of the most capable and talented stars in showbiz.

“When we premiered the first Wonder Woman, I had just had Maya. She was eight weeks, and I just—it was right after we finished shooting Wonder Woman and Justice League—had Maya, had a major hernia in my back.”

She suffered another major injury as she reprised her role in Wonder Woman 1984. She claimed,

“And then this one, on this one, I hurt my neck and my shoulder. It just—it comes with a—it is what it is. It’s such a physical role like the physicality is another character that I have to play. But it has its toll.”

The Death on the Nile movie star shared that her dancing career helped her prepare for the role of a female superhero and not her background in the military.

“It didn’t really. One would think, like, military it, sounds so, you know, what you would think it would be. But honestly, I think that more than anything, the fact that I was a dancer for 12 years before that’s what helps me with all the stunt work. Because it’s all about learning the choreographies and the timing, and it’s all about the movement. So I think that’s something that really helped me.”

According to reports, Gal Gadot underwent intense training to help build the muscle to match the physique of her superhero role and learned different martial art techniques. She also gained 17 pounds of muscle! And as they say, the rest is history.
