It’s not easy opening up to the world when you are a respected and famous celebrity, but there are things that an individual has that need to be put out there to tell the world who they are. Thus, Jada Smith has brought us her latest memoir titled Worthy, which has been her outlet and a window for others to take a look at how she’s lived her life until now.
In this memoir, the actress has also talked about a certain recurrence she has observed with the women of her family, where all of them have gone through some kind of trauma or the other, even her. But then she also talks about how realizing this helped her to not let her daughter Willow Smith experience the same phenomenon.
Jada Smith Reveals She Was Able To Break The Cycle Of Trauma With Willow Smith
We may know her as a famous talk show host and a great actor, but most may not know how she grew up to be Jada Smith. This is what motivated her to bring out her latest memoir Worthy, which is making tons of headlines around the world as it is a look into who she was in the early days of her life and how she became who she is today.

She revealed that all the women in her family had suffered some kind of trauma in their lives, starting with her great-grandmother, who suffered from schizophrenia. Next, her grandmother Marion Martin Banfield, lost her sister and was later pregnant under mysterious circumstances, which led to her being cast out of her family until a white family took her in as a maid.
Her mother had suffered a failed marriage with her husband and Smith’s father, which spiraled her into dealing narcotics. But, she also reveals that she was able to somewhat break this cycle with her daughter Willow Smith. In an interview with POPSUGAR, she said:
“Clear understanding of the trauma cycle between the women,” she says. “When I looked at my great-grandmother‘s story that bled into my grandmother’s story, that then bled into my mother’s story, and then bled into my story, and then how I was able to break some cycles with Willow.”
The actress was extremely grateful for the aforementioned feat she was able to achieve with her daughter and goes on to cherish this with her every day.
