Thanks to his outstanding performance on the big screens, Hugh Jackman’s name now goes synonymously well with The Wolverine. The exact opposite of his on-screen gruff X-Men persona, the 54-year-old is super witty and optimistic, judging from how he never takes criticism to his heart. But his overly witty personality just might have put him in a weird situation in front of other renowned personalities.

In his jukebox musical The Boy From Oz, Hugh Jackman plays the role of Peter Allen, a loving, gay musical icon – a completely different personality as compared to his on-screen Wolverine. His performance in the musical had him acting, singing, dancing, and making people laugh. But while this came as a surprise to the audience, Jackman did some really silly things during his musical.

Recalling how he would drag people from the audience to the stage to roast them during the second act of his play, the Logan star revealed,

“The most fun I ever had was playing Peter Allen. There was, I don’t know, roughly 10 to 12 minutes of every show that was ad-libbed. Once I was 50 or 60 shows in, I felt completely free to do whatever the hell I wanted. I was an a–hole at times. I brought up Barbara Walters and Matt Damon and made Matt Damon give Barbara Walters a lap dance, which turned into me giving Matt Damon a lap dance. And he didn’t punch me.”

Roasting aside, the very weird yet hilarious reason that encouraged Hugh Jackman to give Barbara Walters and Matt Damon a lap dance was to avoid getting punched by the renowned celebrities. Pretty crazy, right?

Not just stopping there, Hugh Jackman went ahead to roast several other top-rated celebrities as well. Once, he nearly caused a wardrobe malfunction for the Extreme Measure star Sarah Jessica Parker as he called her onstage and forced her to dance in her tight ballerina dress. Sympathizing with the actress much later on during an interview, he said,

“I really felt for her that night. As soon as she got up onstage, I could tell those boobs were about to come out.”

But despite wreaking havoc and creating such embarrassing yet hilarious situations for himself along with the people around him, Hugh Jackman made sure to never miss even a single show for The Boy From Oz, regardless of whatever obstacle got in his way. Now that’s called determination!
