Kit Harington Was Pulled Off For Speeding
Back when George R.R Martin’s book – A Song of Ice and Fire was being adapted by HBO into the fan-favorite show Game of Thrones, Kit Harington who played Jon Snow in the series was pulled off for speeding. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2016, Harington recalled the incident from one night he was returning from his parents’ house.

According to the actor, back then, people’s curiosity was running wild about the fate of his onscreen character Jon Snow. In the 5th season of the series, Harington’s character was brutally murdered by the brothers of Nights’ Watch. That’s how the 5th season ended on a cliffhanger, igniting nail-biting suspense in fans.
“I feel the sirens go off behind me, and this policeman comes up, pulls me over and I go a bit sheepishly, say ‘I’m really sorry, I wasn’t looking at the clock’. And he said ‘did you realize how fast you were going and that’s a bookable offense’. And I said ‘I’m very very sorry’.”
Somehow, after he was pulled off by the policeman, Kit Harington narrated a bizarre thing that happened to him. According to the actor, he was asked about Jon Snow’s fate in the upcoming season if he wanted to avoid a speeding ticket. Making fans laugh with his story, Harington began sharing what happened.
Kit Harington Gave Out Spoilers to Avoid A Speeding Ticket
Since George R.R. Martin had different sets of plots ready for the books and the show, fans were confused about Jon Snow’s ultimate fate. Everyone was trying to find out whether Kit Harington’s character would be resurrected or not. But HBO bosses had been strict about the secret, so much so that they had even asked Harington to hide the secret from his family members.
Well, although Kit Harington might have kept the secret from his family and friends, he couldn’t hide it from the policeman who stopped him. According to Harington, he recalled how he used the revelation of Jon Snow’s fate in the sixth season, to avoid a speeding ticket on his way back from his parents’ house.
“He said, ‘look there’s two ways we could do this. You can either follow me back to the police station now and I book you in, or you can tell me whether you live in the next series of Game of Thrones’ And I laughed like you’re all laughing, and his face was just still.”
But eventually, realizing that the policeman wasn’t joking about his offer, Kit Harington noted how he gave away the major spoiler to get out of the situation. Opening up during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor claimed dropping the spoiler and genuinely avoiding the speeding ticket.
“He said ‘I’ve to tell you whether I take you into the police station depends on what your answer is.’ So I looked at him and said, ‘I’m alive next season.’ And he says, ‘On your way, Lord Commander.’”
Eventually, after months of speculation, even Game of Thrones finally revealed the resurrection of Jon Snow in the 6th season of the show.
