With the release of 2022’s Enola Holmes 2, British actress Millie Bobby Brown became one of the highest-paid actresses of the year. According to Variety, Brown earned a paycheck of $10 million for the Netflix original film and is likely to earn more as she also serves as a producer on the film.

The huge paycheck is a result of her great relationship with Netflix after she starred in arguably the streaming platform’s most successful original series Stranger Things. Brown was cast as the protagonist Eleven when she was only twelve years old and she became a household name with the success of the fantasy mystery series, which was a homage to the 80s and Stephen King’s horror novels.

As the seasons progressed, her salary for Stranger Things also increased. The actress reportedly started out in season 1 with a $20,000 per episode salary. However, when the show blew up, Brown as well as the rest of the cast were paid a $60,000 bonus. Her salary for the third season reportedly increased to $350,000 per episode.

The success of Stranger Things gave Millie Bobby Brown her first feature film Godzilla: King of Monsters. She reprised her role in the sequel Godzilla vs. Kong. She then starred in the Enola Holmes franchise. She even started her own beauty brand called ‘Florence by Mills.

Actress Millie Bobby Brown is now one of the highest-paid actresses and is one of the most recognized names in the industry. She has a strong lineup of projects that includes the Russo Brothers’ The Electric State and the Netflix fantasy film Damsel, in which she also serves as an executive producer. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the actress has a net worth of $14 million which is bound to increase with the fifth season of Stranger Things.

However, Millie Bobby Brown’s success was not overnight. The British actress moved with her family to the USA and started learning acting. When an agent spotted her, the family moved to LA to support Bobbie Brown in her acting career. The family reportedly sold most of their belongings to move to the ‘city of dreams’, but the roles she was getting were not enough for them to sustain and they had to move back to the UK.

In an interview with Daily Mail, the actress spoke more about the troubling times,

“It was very hard. There were lots of tears along the way…My older sister left. She didn’t want to do it [America] anymore. It was tears, tears, tears. We went through tough times…I was devastated. I wasn’t getting work. I thought I was done.”

However, this setback seemed to have helped Millie Bobby Brown in securing her role as Eleven in Stranger Things as she reportedly had to cry during the auditions, which she effortlessly did due to her situation. She then moved back to the USA to film the show and she has not looked back since.
