Gege Akutami’s magnum opus, Jujutsu Kaisen, is an anime that was difficult for the Bleach creator to understand. Recently, Tite Kubo and Gege Akutami were part of an interview. They talked about each other’s anime, inspirations, storytelling style, etc. It was during that interview that the Bleach creator mentioned his dilemma with the concept of Cursed Energy. Initially, he saw Megumi Fushiguro and his Ten Shadows technique. He could not understand whether it was a shadow puppetry technique and whether the ability specifically demanded it to be performed at night.

Kubo became impatient since Megumi’s understanding of shadows was different from his. But once Nanami Kento was introduced, all the doubts were cleared. His grasp over Cursed Energy improved. Nanami’s Ratio Technique played a massive role in clearing his doubt. The Ratio Technique allowed him to deal more damage to an enemy if the blow landed on a specific area.

Till Nanami’s introduction, everything appeared to be complex to him. Not only Megumi’s Ten Shadow Technique but also Ryomen Sukuna’s abilities were a tad bit complex since not much light was shed on them. But Nanami and his blunt sword helped everyone understand the concept of Cursed Energy. Gege Akutami explained the Ratio Technique not only to understand the character but to clear doubts about the Cursed Technique and Cursed Energy.

Tite Kubo Is a Massive Fan of Nanami Kento

Tite Kubo is full of appreciation for Jujutsu Kaisen’s Nanami since the blonde sorcerer helped him understand the power scaling of the anime. Apart from that, he is also his favorite character. It comes as no surprise Nanami is one of the fan-favorite characters from Jujutsu Kaisen. Unfortunately, his horrible death in season two shocked many fans. Mahito was a hated character, but after killing Nanami, he reached new heights of hatred.

Nanami Kento is Tite Kubo’s favorite character.

Nanami is a complex character who hates the corporate world and does not reveal himself to others, yet he tries his absolute best to create the best environment for the youths and look after their safety. Tite Kubo’s magnum opus became a generational anime and earned its spot as one of the Big Three. But Gege Akutami creates characters that attract the creator of the Big Three. Nanami Kento is just an example of how they do it.

Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen are available on Viz Media.
