“I was impotent, fatigued, emotionally depressed,–I had real health issues that were affecting me in a major way. It’s bad for your heart, your skin, your system, your spirit.”

Feeling miserable, the actor found motivation to get fit after watching himself on screen in Zero Dark Thirty. This realization prompted him to choose a healthier path. He said,

“I’d gone back and forth, lost weight for Moneyball, got fat again, then trimmed down for Zero Dark Thirty, then gained it all back again for Andy. Then I did this Vince Vaughn movie Delivery Man [2013] and got to my fattest: 295lb [133.8kg]. That’s when I saw Zero Dark Thirty and right after walking out I was like: ‘I’m going to get in shape and I’m never going to be fat again.’”

And he did. He gradually and consistently got in shape and strives to maintain a healthy balance now. He has finally freed himself from the symptoms he experienced earlier, including a word that caused a stir on the internet. Consequently, he later had to clarify his statement.

Chris Pratt Didn’t Know What “Impotent” Meant But…

Following the Men’s Health magazine interview, the actor’s revelations sparked a buzz on the internet, leading him to clarify his statements. In an interview with Access, he stated,

“I’m not sure I knew what ‘impotent’ meant when I said it, I had a lower s-x drive, to be honest with you. Everything about my spirit was dull. I didn’t feel great, and I think people will relate to that.”

He clarified that even though he wasn’t entirely sure of the word’s meaning, the sensation of a decreased s–ual drive and several other factors affecting his life had a severe impact on him. He continued by stating,

“I don’t want to ever come out against sounding like I’m talking smack about people who have issues with their body weight, or don’t have issues with their body weight—To each their own, but to those who felt the way I felt at that time, there’s really hope. You can, with hard work and dedication and just sticking to it, you can actually make a big change,—And it will affect you, not just physically, not just the way you look, but how you feel and how your spirit feels and how your p–is feels — especially the p–is part!”

Therefore, while being “fat” might have been beneficial for his career, it didn’t turn out to be the same way in his personal life.
