Gypsy Rose Blanchard has made the headlines for various reasons over the years. Most notable, of course, was her mother, Clauddine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard’s murder. There has been a lot of speculation about her possibly suffering from Munchausen syndrome by proxy. It is a behavioral disorder that causes a parent or caregiver to evoke sympathy by pretending their child is ill.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard was physically and mentally abused by her mother for years. When she had had enough, Blanchard hatched the nefarious plan with Nicholas Godejohn, whom she had met online. She was charged with second-degree murder, and she finally got out of jail on parole after eight years in December.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s story has even been turned into a limited series by Hulu, called The Act. In a separate interview, she stated her ideas for a biopic based on her life.

Since then, Blanchard has been trying to gain some semblance of control over her life. She started by going under the knife to change the shape of her nose. She further emphasized that she was undergoing a personal and physical transformation, and rhinoplasty was one of them.

Her rhinoplasty was scheduled for April 5th. With the surgery over, Blanchard is still in pain, but in an exclusive interview with People, she expressed her excitement to see her new look.

“I come in and out of sleep. I was in pain at first but I am on pain medicine. I can’t breathe through my nose because of the packing but that comes off on the 10th,” she said.

The surgery took place a mere days after Blanchard announced that she was parting ways with her husband, Ryan Anderson. She has since gotten in touch with her former flame, Ken Urker.

Why did Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s marriage fall apart?

Blanchard’s life has been far from a fairy tale. The convict might have imagined that her marriage could be one, but reality shattered her dream.

The couple married in 2022 in a jailhouse ceremony while Blanchard was still serving her 10-year prison sentence. So what really happened that caused Blanchard to call it quits on her marriage?

Apparently, the couple had a huge argument, and Anderson’s reaction left her terrified. A source close to her revealed that she locked herself in the bathroom because she was scared. Anderson kept banging on the door, telling her to open up, which terrified Blanchard even more. She knew this was the end of her married life, and she requested a relative to pick her up.

Blanchard was terrified since her mother instilled a fear of physical abuse in her. Anderson did not raise his hand at her, but years of trauma response can be hard to let go of.
