Dolph Lundgren Criticises DCU For Deviating From The Original Script of Aquaman 2

As DC fans remember, Dolph Lundgren portrayed the role of King Nereus in both films. The actor has criticized DCU for limiting the screen time of Amber Heard, as DC fans did not get the original version of the film he saw. During an exclusive interview with ComicBook, the actor shared that it was some sort of corporate decision that limited her screen time, which was after the final verdict on the Heard vs Depp trial.

“I just realized that it was some kind of corporate decision that they try to limit Amber Heard and then I’m playing with her dad and went along with it.”

“I was just disappointed for the moviegoers, because I thought the original script was great and the original cut — I saw a little bit of it, it was really good, so I didn’t see any reason to start reshooting and reshaping the story, which obviously led to disappointment in the moviegoers and not just me.”

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, which was dropped in theatres on 22nd December 2023, promised to be an exciting watch but failed to match the expectations of the fans. The sequel has managed to accumulate only $375 million at the worldwide box office, which is nowhere close to the first film had grossed $1.14 billion at the worldwide box office.
