Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, released almost seven years ago, featured one of the best Star Wars stories ever. It is therefore not surprising that Tony Gilroy’s critically acclaimed television series, Andor has continued to tell heartfelt stories. Last year, Andor’s star, Diego Luna talked about the highs and lows of working on the franchise.
The Disney Plus series is a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (which itself was a spinoff), and Luna played the title role. After receiving positive reviews for the first season, a second is currently in the works (estimated release: August 2024).
Well, we will not argue with the internet’s conclusion that Andor is the greatest Star Wars series ever produced. But now that Andor season 2 is in the works, Diego Luna has referred to himself as the “luckiest actor ever” after receiving the scripts for the second season.
In addition to this, the Mexican actor also expressed his displeasure while filming the first season of the series, which contains twelve episodes.

Diego Luna on Season Two of Andor
Over the course of twelve episodes, Cassian Andor (played by Mexican actor, Diego Luna) had the chance to examine every aspect of Andor’s personality.
Last year, Collider’s Steve Weintraub had the chance to speak with the 43-year-old actor and discuss the series before the season finale. After being given the opportunity to read the script of the show’s second-season scripts, he has referred to himself as the “luckiest actor ever”.
The actor, who reportedly made $ 70,000 per episode of Andor, revealed to Collider last year:
“I don’t get shocked anymore about the quality of the writing because I know Tony, I know the writers, I know the process. And even though when you read something that is a work in progress, it’s already better than half of what you’ve read before in your life. It’s incredible. It’s incredible.”
The Narcos: Mexico actor went on to say:
“But now, reading [the season 2 scripts], it is delicious. Now, I can very selfishly say this. It’s like knowing that I’ll be acting on this show, knowing I’ll be learning those lines, knowing I’ll also be working with these actors just makes me feel like I’m the luckiest actor ever.”

Diego Luna’s Complaint About Andor
Diego Luna, who is also known for his critically acclaimed performance in Y Tu Mamá También, voiced his displeasure with the filming and character development of the first season of Star Wars: Andor during the pandemic.
According to Luna, who portrayed Cassian Andor, the second season has a few benefits that the first season lacked. To quote the father of two:
“We shot this first season in the worst possible conditions, in the worst time of the confinement, where we had no chance to interact, to celebrate, to share and collaborate in the way I’m used to.”
Moreover, The Book of Life actor was nervous and eager to go through a process that would allow him to interact more with his team, which he now views as his family.
”I was scared every day… So I am so looking forward to go through a process in a way where I can interact more with this team that I feel today are my family.”
