Tom Holland Felt Lucky And Daunted At The Same Time

Tom Holland, whose Spider-Man: No Way Home garnered $1.9 billion at the box office worldwide, revealed in an interview that he was star-struck by Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas while filming Uncharted (2022), based on the video game franchise of the same name.

Referring to the Desperado actor, who plays the role of ruthless Santiago Moncada, Holland said:

“He was delightful. Honestly, he was so lovely, and I’ve been a massive fan of his for a very long time, so to share the screen with him and to work with him was a real honor. He’s double-handsome in every way. He is just the coolest guy. I was weak at the knees working with him!”

Being Mark Wahlberg’s big-time fan, Tom Holland (plays Nathan Drake) expressed that working with the actor, who plays his mentor, Sully in the Ruben Fleischer-directed action-adventure film, was just as “daunting” of an experience.

Nevertheless, the brotherly chemistry between Wahlberg and Holland was witnessed by their global fans, and the movie grossed over $401.7 million worldwide, becoming the sixth-highest-grossing video game film of all time.

Mark Wahlberg Found A Little Brother In Tom Holland

The filming of Uncharted resulted in a life-long relationship between Mark Walhberg and Tom Holland. The 26-year-old actor, who played an amateur treasure hunter, also solving the mystery of his long-lost brother, revealed how his on-screen chemistry with The Fighter actor turned into real-life chemistry.

Nate and Sully’s chemistry was as real as it comes. Holland expressed that during the filming, the two actors found out that they shared so much in common, one being their love for golf. Walhberg too expressed how he found a little brother in MCU’s Spider-Man. The Pain & Gain actor famously said:

“You know what, I never got to be the big brother. I was always the little brother, so I was always kind of picked on and treated [badly] by my brothers, Tom was definitely a formidable opponent. He’s done a great job. And he was a good little brother to have for sure.”

Uncharted is inspired by the famous video game franchise of the same name, developed by American company, Naughty Dog. Created by Amy Henning, the video game follows a group of treasure hunters who “travel across the world to uncover various historical mysteries”.
