On Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked the actress why their relationship failed.
“Well he remains my best friend to this day, but I say this… he used to really annoy me,” she admitted. “I mean, I love him, but he’s very annoying.”
Grant is a good friend of Hurley’s, and the two of them share deep feelings of affection, which makes Hurley happy.
“It’s a grand passion. But I think it’s quite nice when you realize you can have a passionate friendship with someone, but it’s not actually sexual. It’s just really intense feelings of love, I guess,” she said. “I was with him for 13 years!”
With their respective relationships, independent careers, and decades-spanning these careers, each of them has moved on in their life. Despite their troubled past, they have still been able to stay in touch and remain the best of friends.

Hugh Grant said that his romantic connection with Elizabeth Hurley, who he dated in the 1990s, ended because “the sex bit probably fizzled out, but now she’s my absolute best friend—number one person I call in a crisis,” in an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.
However, what Hurley said was hilarious to some extent. However, she claims that in the end, the fact that he can be a bit of a grump was the deciding factor. She shared that her friends had a delightful little nickname for her former boyfriend, “My friends used to call him Grumpelstiltskin. He is very grumpy,” she told Cohen. “But I found it actually fairly charming,” the host interjected. “I do too,” Hurley assured him, “but not 24/7.”
They dated from 1987 to 2000, when they parted ways amicably. In 1995, after picking up a s*x worker off the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, Grant was detained for engaging in indecent behavior, putting their relationship to the test.
