Glen Powell might be one of the next best things in Hollywood, especially after his performance in Top Gun: Maverick as Hangman. He then went on to bag the leading role in the romantic comedy, Anyone but You, opposite Sydney Sweeney. Apart from being a great actor, Glen Powell is an absolute film nerd and we sure love him for that!

This was proven during his interview with GQ magazine where the actor took a stroll at the Warner Bros.’ backlot and couldn’t help himself from pointing out the fragments of the film industry scattered there. During the interview, Glen Powell came across a ‘Batman’ section and decided to let the world know what he would do with the character if he ever got to play him.

No one could have been more excited than Glen Powell while taking the tour of the Warner Bros.’ backlot. The actor was the perfect tourist for such a place as he would stop to take pictures while sitting on the iconic couch from FRIENDS, be fascinated by the miniature airplane used in The Right Stuff, and he would even ask the interviewer to join him for an experiment regarding forced perspective used in The Lord of the Rings.

Clearly, Powell is extremely fascinated by the film industry’s history, an industry he deeply cares about. While talking to GQ and continuing his tour which he is clearly enjoying, Powell comes across a section where Batmobiles were lined up. Being a “Batman guy,” he couldn’t keep his excitement in.

The publication reported that Powell has no interest in playing any superhero, let alone the Caped Crusader. However, he has it all planned out if he ever decides to play Batman. The actor stated that if he was ever to be Batman, his iteration wouldn’t have a tone similar to Matt Reeves’ Batman, but rather, Michael Keaton’s.

I was always a Batman guy. I would have a wild take on Batman. It definitely would not be like a Matt Reeves tone – it’d probably be closer to Keaton.

He then comes across the Batmobile used by Keaton’s Batman and says, “Oh, sick! See? This is the era.”

While Powell has never had experience playing a superhero, he has worked with DC previously, albeit for a small role in The Dark Knight Rises. He reminisced, “I get my head smashed in by Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.”

There are many out there who love Keaton’s version of the superhero. However, when it comes to Powell playing Batman, fans would rather pass.

Fans Have Another Superhero Role for Glen Powell

After learning about Powell’s idea for his ‘supposed’ Batman role, fans were a little worried. Why? Well, it is simply because they cannot bring themselves to see the actor play Batman.

Powell impressed us all with his brilliant acting skills in Top Gun: Maverick and we have no doubt that he would do justice to any role that he bags. However, fans are not convinced that he would make a good Batman.

On the other hand, some of them believe that he would be the perfect choice to bring another superhero to life – Booster Gold. Some even think that Hal Jordan a.k.a. Green Lantern would be a good character for Powell.

Take a look at what fans have to say about it all:

Well, it looks like Powell does not have the fans’ approval for playing Bruce Wayne. Perhaps it’s a good thing he doesn’t plan on playing a superhero then!
