Sadie Sink has always been a beloved actress from Stanger Things. Although she is often considered a bold young actress, Sink happens to have her own issues and difficulties with intimacy. Thus, spilling the beans on her first kiss, the actress confessed how awkward it was, initially. Sink, who plays Max Mayfield in the Netflix hit series, pairs up with her co-star Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas Sinclair.

Reflecting upon the episodes when Max and Lucas started dating, Sadie Sink mentioned dreading the moment when the show-makers come up with a kissing scene. “We were both awkward, but it was also funny” Sink shared. Thus, eventually, when the two characters ended up having their first onscreen kiss, the actress recalled her experience, “It was nerve-wracking at the time, but I look back now and can laugh about it”.

Considering Sadie Sink and Caleb McLaughlin’s awkwardness with each other, the Duffer Brothers, joked in the aftershow Beyond Stranger Things about making the two share an unscripted kiss. Although fans got really upset and made a big deal out of it, the idea evidently worked and the two got rid of their awkwardness. Thus, trying to ease the controversies related to the unscripted kiss, Sink later mentioned, “I mean, of course, I was nervous…But I never objected to [it] or felt pushed into anything”.

Sadie Sink’s Unscripted Kiss With Caleb McLaughlin

Realizing the importance of intimacy in the entertainment industry, Sadie Sink got over her awkwardness really quick and shared a kiss with Caleb McLaughlin at the school’s winter dance as Max and Lucas. Although Caleb McLaughlin, who is one of the top contenders to play Miles Morales in the Spiderman live-action film, didn’t comment on his first kiss with Sadie Sink, the actress sure spoke out loud.

During a 2017 interview, Sadie Sink mentioned how it all happened, and how she wasn’t told the kiss was happening until she arrived on set. She mentioned how one of the crew said,

Ooh, Sadie, you ready for the kiss?” to which she went, “What! No! That’s not in the script…that’s not happening”.

Discussing with The Wrap, Sink mentioned,

I always felt comfortable and the Duffer Brothers, they do the best job and always create a comfortable space. And if I felt uncomfortable with anything, I wouldn’t have done it.”

Repeatedly, trying to ease the controversy related to the unscripted kiss, Sadie Sink mentioned feeling so “stressed out” and “freaked” by a kiss, that the Duffer Brothers had to insist on it.
