Courtney Love's warning about Harvey Weinstein should have been taken more seriously.

"If Harvey Weinstein invites you to a party... Don't go": Courtney Love Tried to Warn us about Hollywood's Apex S-x Predator 19 Years Ago

SUMMARY

The skeletons in Harvey Weinstein’s closet came pouring out one October morning in 2017. All of the people he had tried to silence with his power for decades, no longer wanted to hide his crimes from him. Within 24 hours, one of the most powerful people in Hollywood had a manhunt out for him.

People from all corners of the industry were accusing him of horrible things with mountains of proof to back them up.

Going from years of being drunk with power, there was no way Weinstein could buy his way out of this problem. Before this, he was known as ‘the Bully of Hollywood’; a man who held his power over everyone who dared to cross him and played filthy.

However, before he was exposed, a few warned the world about the truth of his person. It would seem that Courtney Love was one of them.

Courtney Love Had A Warning About Harvey Weinstein

In 2005, Courtney Love gave an interview with Comedy Central, via TMZ, at an event where she was asked quite a simple question that many actresses have had to answer. What advice did she have for young women who wanted to move to Hollywood?

While many actresses have gone for the simple route by telling them to believe in themselves or trust their judgment, Love chose a different approach altogether.

“I’ll get libelled if I say it…” she went on, “If Harvey Weinstein invites you to a private party at the Four Seasons [hotel] don’t go.”

The singer decided to warn the viewers who were interested in moving to Hollywood, specifically cautioning them about Harvey Weinstein. Love told them that if they were ever offered to go to a private party in the Four Seasons hotel with the film producer, they should not go under any circumstance.

A little over ten years later, Weinstein was charged with several counts of s*xual assault.

Courtney Love Was Not Allowed To Speak Up

Before her warning, Love mentioned that if she said what she was about to say, she would get into some serious trouble. Thinking the consequences to be worth it, she warned the younger audience anyway.

However, after Weinstein’s arrest, she spoke up about what happened after she made these comments against one of the most successful people in the film industry at the time.

“Although I wasn’t one of his victims, I was eternally banned by CAA for speaking out against Harvey Weinstein.” said Love.

In a now-deleted tweet, via TMZ, the singer mentioned that after her warning about Weinstein, she was contacted by the talent agency, Creative Artists Agency, who banned her from their services forever. It is safe to say that there were reasons why Weinstein ended up getting away with as many things as he did.
