“Before we started shooting, I spoke to Joey Pantoliano, whom I know, and said, Joe, we got to have a lot of fun on this thing. If we’re going to do this movie, the best service we can do is to enjoy it. So let’s be sure that we’re having fun every minute. If we’re not having fun, let’s stop and figure out why and then make some decisions that are fun. And I think that served the movie pretty well.”

The 76-year-old actor further revealed that he thought this film would be a failure at the box office and probably this would end his career. He told the outlet,

“I remember being in the giant basement of that hotel, surrounded by hanging bags of laundry. I was standing there speaking out to Harrison’s character. And there was nothing there except big bags of laundry. And I remember thinking in the back of my mind, “I’ll never work again. This is never going to work. And the best thing I can do is be as clear, concise, and coherent as possible, deliver these lines as cleanly and dutifully as possible, and maybe I’ll get another job one day, somewhere down the line.”

In the titular film, Harrison Ford played the character of Dr. Richard Kimble, and Tommy Lee Jones as Deputy U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard. Despite their feelings about the movie not being able to perform well at the box office, it outperformed and grossed over $353 Million at the global box office and won seven Academy Awards nominations, with Lee Jones winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
