Known for portraying villainous characters on screen, Mads Mikkelsen has starred in some of the biggest franchises in Hollywood, including Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, and James Bond. However, the actor reportedly did not know the latter franchises before he joined them. The same was the case for the Barbadian singer, Rihanna.
During an interview, he shared that he did not know much about the Grammy winner when he was offered to star in the music video of her 2015 song B*tch Better Have My Money. He also shared his kids’ reaction to him getting the offer, who strongly emphasized that he should not let go of the opportunity.

In 2015, Rihanna released the music video to her song titled B*tch Better Have My Money. It featured several recognizable faces, including Mads Mikkelsen. During a 2017 interview with ShortList, the actor opened up about the reason he accepted the offer for the music video.
He shared that he did not know much about the singer at the time, so he decided to consult with his kids, Viola and Karl. However, he did not expect what was headed his way. The Casino Royale actor shared that his kids started screaming, as they told him to accept the offer.
“I wasn’t really aware of who she was so I had to double-check with my kids. And they were screaming in my face: “You f*cking moron! Don’t you know who she is?? If you don’t do this I’ll kill you.”
Talking about his favorite Rihanna song, he said that she has a broad palette, and he has heard a “few things.” However, having been a part of the song, he says that he has a “soft spot” for B*tch Better Have My Money.
How Did Mads Mikkelsen Star in Rihanna’s Music Video?
Mads Mikkelsen has shared that he once got a call from his agent who asked him if he was interested in starring in Rihanna’s music video. During an interview with Vulture, he said that although he did not know much about the singer, he “did know about her music” and told his agent, “Why not? That’s cool.”
He shared that once he told his kids about it, his “brownie points like … skyrocketed.” The Doctor Strange actor was also quite fascinated with Rihanna’s nail extensions, which had his face on it. “And — the coolest part — she had fake nails with my face on it for the video,” he shared.
Although he was not very familiar with the singer at first, the actor soon got comfortable around her and even asked if he could keep some of her nail extensions. “I’ve got some of those fake nails,” he said, sharing that he enjoyed playing the role of “b*tch” in the music video. The video features him as an accountant, aka the b*tch, who has been stealing from Rihanna.
