Well, there is no telling that Mission: Impossible 7 had its fair share of casualties. However, as expected, Tom Cruise will return for the eighth installment and surprisingly will revive the fan-favorite character whom people thought was done for.
Actor Simon Pegg recently announced via an Instagram post that Pom Klementieff, his co-star from Dead Reckoning Part One, is set to return as Paris for the upcoming installment. And fans are overjoyed!
Everybody’s Favorite Paris Will Be Returning to MI8!
Despite initial beliefs of it being a final farewell, it’s now confirmed that Paris will indeed be making a return to the hit Tom Cruise franchise. MI veteran Simon Pegg had the honor of unveiling this great news to the world through a cheeky one-liner along with a picture on his Instagram handle. Fans are ecstatic beyond words. The post said,
“Hard to kill! if you think you’ve seen the last of Paris…think again.”

And turns out she is indeed hard to kill. Despite the dire situation where Gabriel stabbed Pom Klementieff’s character, fans assumed her survival was uncertain. However, in a surprising turn of events, she’s seen alive by the end, having rescued Ethan and Grace. Thus, her return was imminent, and the Instagram post confirmed the good news further.
Other Actors Fans Can Anticipate Seeing in the Mission: Impossible Sequel
Taking the most obvious ones out of the way, Ethan’s IMF partners, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell and Simon Pegg’s Benji Dunn are set to make a comeback in the next mission as expected. However, the unfortunate demise of Rebecca Ferguson’s character, Ilsa Faust, at the hands of Gabriel means she won’t be returning for the upcoming installment, unlike Paris. Speaking to Empire Magazine, director Christopher McQuarrie said,
“It’s a very heroic death for that character. It is not in any way, shape, or form disposable. It’s a noble and heroic death. That, to me, is the hardest thing to find for a character. Her death was one of the first things we shot. But the reasons came later – and we were not satisfied the first time I cut the scene together without those reasons in place. As a scene all by itself in a vacuum, [it] didn’t work.”
Well, that certainly clarifies why Rebecca Ferguson won’t be making a return, disappointing fans who were hoping for a miraculous comeback. On the brighter side, Hayley Atwell will reprise her role as Grace. Additionally, Henry Czerny as Kittridge, Shea Whigham as Jasper Briggs, and Greg Tarzan Davis as Degas are all set to reunite for this thrilling journey as well. Additionally, Holt McCallany and Nick Offerman will also be joining the roaster!
With the strike being concluded now fans are anticipating an update following the sequel being pushed back to May 2025.
