Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez first met in 2005, at a Yankees game. Though the two were married to separate people at the time, they shook hands and greeted each other at the game. The two then ran into each other in Los Angeles and rekindled their friendship in 2017 and immediately started dating. After two years of being together, the two got engaged. The couple had planned a summer destination wedding but were forced to postpone due to the pandemic. Their engagement, however, did not last very long.
“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support,” a statement read.
On March 12, 2021, it was reported that the couple allegedly split after being together for four years. It was also believed that A-Rod was cheating on JLo with Southern Charm’s Madison LeCroy, but a source told People the two have never met. The two released a statement revealing that they were still together but were working through some things. However, a month later, they officially announced their break up and stated that they were better off as friends.
Did Alex Rodriguez Cheat on Jennifer Lopez?
After Alex Rodriguez was accused of cheating on Jennifer Lopez with Madison LeCroy before their split, many have wondered how true this was. On a recent episode of Austen Kroll’s podcast, “Pillows and Beer,” LeCroy opened up about what actually happened between her and the former baseball player. The Southern Charm star revealed that A-Rod had, in fact, slid into her DMs and asked her to be his “side chick” despite his engagement to Lopez.
LeCroy recalled thinking at the time, “The dude who’s dating [Lopez] is not in my DMs right now.” she shared. “I said, ‘If you’re looking for a side chick, which clearly he was, it wasn’t gonna be me’ – I’m wifey material,” LeCroy shared.
LeCroy also mentioned that Rodriguez was face-timing her multiple times a day and was even trying to get her to fly to Miami, an invitation she denied multiple times.
“People still don’t believe me – I swear to God, I’ve never, ever seen that person’ in person,” LeCroy said. “He contacted me – and yes, we DMed – but other than that, there was nothing,” LeCroy said. “I’ve never physically seen him, touched him. I am not a (expletive) liar and I will stand up for that.”
The actress first believed herself to have been catfished but later realized that it was actually Rodriguez. She went on to say that she was very clear with him from the start that she had no interest in being his mistress as he was in a committed relationship.
