Johnny Depp has been one of the most successful and popular Hollywood veterans, since his inception in the early 1980s. Garnering praises and accolades throughout his career, Depp enjoyed his grand success until his notorious legal battle against Amber Heard.
Following his lawsuit, the actor started losing most of his franchises like Pirates Of The Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts. Nonetheless, prior to his defamation case, when Johnny Depp enjoyed being a part and parcel of Disney’s Pirates Of The Caribbean movies, the actor appeared shocked by Disney’s obsession with the franchise.
Johnny Depp Appeared Shocked By Disney’s Plan
Appearing for the first time in Disney’s Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise in 2003, Johnny Depp created a place in fans’ hearts as the infamous Jack Sparrow. Ever since then, he became the face of the franchise, until being removed by Disney prior to the shooting of Pirates of the Caribbean 6.
However, before he lost his role, Johnny Depp was once surprised by Disney’s obsession with the franchise and was even more shocked by the Studio’s plans. Appearing in The Ellen Show, Depp expressed his state of shock when the host, Ellen DeGeneres revealed Disney’s plan regarding the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
“And then look at it now, it’s crazy. From what I heard today, there’s like 4 or 5 more lined up, is that true?” DeGeneres asked.
Appearing shocked by the brand new information, Johnny Depp initially fumbled for words, before gathering himself and giving the most fitted reply.
“4 or 5 more? Yeah, I’ll be doing this till I’m 115”
Well, following that interview, the actor did appear in four more Pirates of the Caribbean movies, until he ultimately had a fallout with Disney, following his defamation trial against Amber Heard.
Johnny Depp Lost His Career To Amber Heard
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s lawsuit has been the most notorious celebrity battle ever witnessed by Tinseltown. Prolonged over months, since their divorce, the duo often appeared in court for different cases. However, eventually, their battle ended in November 2022, with Depp winning the lawsuit.
Nonetheless, despite winning the battle in the court, Johnny Depp lost almost everything, later on. Starting from his career to his marriage and faith in relationships, the actor faced the most unfortunate fate. His nefarious case cost him his renowned Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and even caused him to lose his connection with Warner Bros over the Fantastic Beasts movies.
But certainly, the actor made heads turn following his appearance in the 2023 historical romance Jeanne du Barry, alongside Maïwenn. Further, according to recent rumors it has also been stated, that Depp has revived his connection with Disney, and might return to the Pirates of the Caribbean 6, as Jack Sparrow. With the movie currently in development, nothing has been confirmed, but fans are hoping for the best.
