Tom Cruise is all set to take his fans back to the exhilarating world of Ethan Hunt with the upcoming seventh installment of the Mission Impossible franchise. As the actor shared footage of the filming of a car chase sequence in the upcoming film, Dwayne Johnson was one of the renowned faces to show his excitement for the action extravaganza.

While Mission Impossible is all about extremely well-designed action and chase sequences, the upcoming movie is all set to push numerous boundaries with its scenes. But on the other hand, Dwayne Johnson has also been a part of some blockbuster action flicks and made a name for himself in this field. But sadly, there was a project which he lost to the Knight & Day star which left him heartbroken. It’s Jack Reacher.

It was in 2012 when Tom Cruise landed the role of the ex-military police officer and delivered a critical and commercial hit. But later if Johnson’s words are to be believed, he was expected to star in the lead role.

As per the Jumanji star during a Facebook Q&A session, he heard some strong rumors back then which stated that he was considered for the role that ultimately went to Cruise. What led him to believe more in the rumors is his distinct physique and personality which are not easy to be replaced by someone else.

“Fortunately, for me, there aren’t a lot of guys at all who look like me. So, all of my roles, from the beginning of my career, I’ve been a lucky son of a bi**h that they’ve been created and designed for me – except Jack Reacher”

It is normal among Hollywood stars to lose major roles to other stars, but Dwayne Johnson was left heartbroken after losing Jack Reacher. The false expectations from the rumor mill disappointed the Seven Bucks owner even more.

“I got the call saying ‘Hey, you didn’t get the role’ Look, I didn’t even know if I had a shot for it, but the people around me at that time made me think that I did. I felt like I did, I felt like ‘Why not me?’. Tom was the biggest movie star in the world, and I was not.”

But now with some of the most successful film franchises under his collar, it can’t be denied that The Rock is one of the major names out there. After recently returning to his widely popular role as Luke Hobbs in Fast X, and other major projects in the pipeline, Johnson is hoped to rise more.
