The producer of Indiana Jones talked about how Harrison Ford got emotional

Harrison Ford may have ended the Indiana Jones series, but he will always hold a special place in his heart for the character Indy. During an interview, the producer of Indiana Jones Simon Emanuel spoke about how every person who witnessed Ford playing Indy for the last time got emotional on the last day of the shoot. The 48-year-old producer said the Air Force One actor was extremely emotional as they completed the last day of filming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. While talking about Ford, Emanuel said,

“The very last day shooting was really emotional, and I’ll never forget it. We called wrap, we all had a toast and it was really emotional for lots of people. But particularly Harrison. I think it’s his favorite character; out of the characters he’s played, it’s … no, it’s his favorite character. So I’m sure saying goodbye it’s quite something.”

He further added,

“I know he’s very happy to say I’m not coming back. But I think also to know you’re not coming back, it’s quite emotional.” 

The British producer believes that for Ford his Indiana Jones character is much more special than any other character he has played in the past. Fans and critics are serving mixed reactions and opinions on the internet since Indiana Jones 5 has been released on the big screen.

The 42 actor talked about his experience after filming Indiana Jones 5. Ford also talked about the love he has received from fans all around the world whenever he played the character of Indy. The 80-year-old actor said during an interview,

“It’s been extraordinary. It’s been 15 years since we made one of these movies. During that period of time, families have passed the four films on to a new generation of filmmakers and it’s a different time in life – but Indiana Jones still has some magical appeal.”
