To say 2023 was a traumatic year for Jeremy Renner would not be an overstatement, for the actor met with a horrible snow plow accident. Just at the start of 2023, on New Year’s Eve, the Marvel star suffered over 30 broken bones and other critical injuries after his snow plow ran over him. Jeremy Renner (via his Instagram)
After a year of recovery and healing, the actor’s return to health has been nothing but a miracle. However, his speedy recovery has been a culmination of the efforts of the ‘excellent’ health care he has received, support from fans and family as well as his strong willpower and stubbornness to get better.
Jeremy Renner Never Give Up Attitude Helped Him To Get Better After Tragic Accident
Jeremy Renner has had an extremely tough time following his tragic snowplow accident last year that cost him 30 broken bones. After facing a harrowing time, the Marvel star recently sat down with CNN to discuss his recovery and how he got through the period knowing that he had a lot to fight for.
“I’m just so blessed I had so many things to live for, I have a giant family, a 10-year-old daughter. I would have disappointed and really messed up a lot of people’s lives if I would have passed. And so there’s a lot for me to get better.”
Adding on, he stated how he has always been stubborn and his stubbornness helped in his recovery,
“I’m also pretty stubborn, there’s a lot for me to fight for and recovery was just a one-way road in my mind.“
Fortunately, his never-giving-up attitude was instrumental for soon the actor made his very first public appearance in April last year, and even recently released a musical diary titled Wait on the first anniversary of his fatal accident (via People).
Jeremy Renner Had No Option But To Get Better
On New Year’s Eve last year, Renner was trying to save his nephew stuck in snow when his snow plow ran over him. Stating that he gave his nephew images that he can never unsee, the actor is now back to his normal life but the accident is not something he can easily forget.
However, as revealed to CNN, Renner knew he had no option but to get better, for his healing was ‘healing’ to people close to him.
“I never thought about my own physical ailments or my own pain or my own anguish. I had so many things to fight for. So, the one-way road to recovery was like a mental sort of attitude. And that attitude was always to get better. And there’s no option other than that.”
While the actor continues to work on getting better each day, he has been open to his fans about his recovery, sharing little updates every now and then. Recently he even posted a sweet image of him with his daughter on his Instagram, calling her his reason number one for his recovery.
