Can you imagine Hollywood without one of its superstars, Brad Pitt? Yeah, neither can we! Ever since the late 1980s, Brad Pitt has blessed the entertainment industry with one incredible performance after the other. His breakthrough role came in 1991’s Oscar-winning Thelma & Louise where he played the role of J.D.

From then on, it was only onward and upwards for the actor who eventually began his journey as a producer as well. But, back in 2001, Brad Pitt was convinced he has about five or at max, seven years left in him before he takes some time off from Hollywood. Of course, that did not happen and thankfully, Brad Pitt is still going strong.

In 2001, Brad Pitt had come out with projects like Spy Game and Ocean’s Eleven and was clearly riding the huge wave of his success. However, Pitt believed that there was so much more that he could pursue, outside of acting. Talking to Hello, Pitt stated that he probably had “five strong years, maybe seven” to go before he takes a break from acting. He added,

“On one hand, I’m hitting my stride now. On the other hand, I’ll tell you truthfully, I’m completely bored with myself in films. I am still at a viable age, but I’m hitting the cusp. I have other interests that I want to pursue that mean more to me. I think there’s room to go away from it for a while and then you can come back and reinvent.”

Well, Pitt’s plan never came to fruition and we couldn’t be gladder! Had Pitt given up on acting after the said years, we would not have gotten to see him in iconic films like World War Z,  Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Bullet Train, and so on.

It has been more than two decades since Pitt decided that he would go on a long hiatus. Since nothing of the sort happened, you might be curious if Pitt has plans of putting his acting journey to an end for good.  However, let us tell you that Pitt has no plans of retiring just yet.

While the Ocean’s Twelve actor once told GQ that he was currently on his “last leg,” many fans took it the wrong way. They believed Pitt was talking about retiring soon but talking to Deadline on the premiere of Bullet Train, Pitt stated,

“No! I know, I know, I have to work on my phrasing. No, I was just saying, you know, I’m like past middle-age and I wanna be specific how I spend those last bits whenever they might be.”

When asked whether or not he had a specific plan on what he wants to do next, Pitt stated that he is not a “five-year plan” kind of guy and that he would prefer taking things one step at a time. We don’t know when the $400 million-worth actor will be ready to bid farewell to the industry, but we do know that the industry isn’t ready to say goodbye to him just yet!
