O.J. Simpson was known for a flourishing football career followed by a court trial that was watched by millions of people around the world. Being an iconic footballer with a murder trial to his name, Simpson became a household name.
The footballer recently passed away on 10th April after a battle with prostate cancer and the world is coming to terms with it. Two months before he died, Simpson posted a video on his X (formerly Twitter) and admitted to having some struggle with his health.
O.J. Simpson Admitted That All Was Not Well Two Months Before His Death!
It was a known fact that Simpson had been dealing and fighting cancer since he announced it in 2023. The footballer had stated that he would eventually beat the cancer and overcome his problems.
In February of 2024, it was announced that O.J. Simpson was being treated for prostate cancer. Following this battle, Simpson finally passed away at the age of 76 on 10th April. Two months before his death, the actor took to his X (formerly Twitter) to talk about his health. Although he was in a cheerful tone, O.J. Simpson stated that he was dealing with some issues.
“Hey, let me take a moment to say thank you to all the people who reached out to me. My health is good. I mean I’m dealing with some issues but hey I think I’m just about over it and I’ll be back on that golf course hopefully in a couple of weeks.”
He further continued,
“But it was very nice hearing from you and those good, positive words. Thank you.”
Although Simpson was a footballer, his professional career was overshadowed by the court trials where Simpson was accused of murdering his ex-wife and her friend. In an interview, veteran director James Cameron talked about O.J. Simpson and how he was being considered for an iconic movie!
O.J. Simpson Was Being Considered For The Terminator!
Before Cameron finalized Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator, O.J. Simpson was a choice for the director to look into. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, here’s what Cameron said about Simpson!
“Gale and I just looked at each other and thought, ‘You’ve got to be f- - -ing kidding me.’ Mind you, this was before O.J. was actually a killer. We might have reconsidered after he had [allegedly] killed his wife.”
He further continued,
“[Laughs]…frankly I wasn’t interested in an African-American man chasing around a white girl with a knife. It just felt wrong.”
O.J. Simpson was acquitted from the murder trial of his former wife and her friend but was found liable for the deaths three years later in a civil suit. Simpson was released from prison in October 2017 and lived his life until 2024.
