Actor and presenter Warwick Davis, known for his roles in the Harry Potter and Star Wars franchise, recently bid goodbye to social media. The actor recently lost his wife, Samantha Davis, on March 24. Her passing has been hard on their family, and the actor has decided to bid farewell to social media.
The actor met his wife on the set of Willow (1998), and they soon married in 1991. The couple have two children – daughter Annabelle and son Harrison. The couple, along with acting, also founded the charity Little People UK in 2012 for the dwarfism community.
Warwick David Says Adieu to Social Media
After the death of his wife Samantha, Warwick Davis has decided to take time off social media. His wife of 35 years, who also had dwarfism like the actor, passed away at the age of 53 last month. This has definitely been hard on the family, which led to the actor deciding on going off social media.
On April 21, the actor, 54, wrote on X:
“I’m done here, Sgning off. 💔”
This, of course, led to the fans being concerned about the actor after he had recently revealed the news of his wife’s passing. Seeing the concern among fans, his children, Annabelle and Harrison, posted another tweet on behalf of their father and their family, thanking people for their support in such difficult times.
“Thank you everyone for looking out for our Dad, he is taking some time away from social media. He apologises if his last message caused anyone concern. We appreciate all of your love and support, Annabelle and Harrison x”
The Davis family is grieving the loss of their matriarch, and understandably, want to take time off social media to be with each other.
Warwick Davis Says He Misses His Wife’s Hugs
Warwick Davis, who played the characters of Professor Flitwick as well as the goblin Griphook on the Harry Potter franchise, shared in a statement with BBC about his wife’s passing. Being one of the highest grossing supporting actors of all time, the actor has amassed a fortune of nearly $10 million. But all that is not enough in such a difficult time in his life. He said his wife was his “favourite human,” and “I miss her hugs.”
He also said that his wife was his “most trusted confidante” and an “ardent supporter” of his work. He further added:
“She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes.”
Their two children, both of whom have dwarfism, have also expressed their sorrow, saying:
“Mum is our best friend and we’re honoured to have received a love like hers.”
