Tom Holland knows that his body is a temple and that’s exactly what he treats it as. He spends a lot of time working out, just building his physique. For his Spider-Man films alone, the actor put on 7 kilograms of lean muscle mass that too in just six weeks. Although, Tom Holland doesn’t have that buffed-up physique like some of his Avengers co-actors (we are looking at you Chris Hemsworth!), his athletic physique makes him stand out from the rest.

Motivation is the key when it comes to building and maintaining such a physique. And since anyone can find motivation in anything, what is it that drives Tom Holland? Well, despite the fact that the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Universe are onscreen rivals, it looks like the actors know how to help each other out in real life.

In a 2019 interview with GQ Magazine, Tom Holland pondered upon the idea that he could be the “box office person of the year” thanks to his back-to-back hits. Holland was skeptical about accepting the unofficial title as he thought there were others who could have had a more successful year than him, for example, Dwayne Johnson.

Holland asked, “What does Dwayne have coming out?” He then opened up about how Johnson has always been an inspirational figure for him. The actor added that Johnson’s “whole thing” where he advises people to be the hardest worker in the room has stuck with Holland.

“The Rock is someone I’ve always looked up to. His whole thing is: Be the hardest-working person in the room. It’s something that I’ve really taken to heart. And when I heard him say that for the first time, I was like, ‘That is a really good saying.’”

Holland had reached out to Johnson on social media where the two got acquainted with each other. In fact, the conversations inspired the Uncharted actor so much that he decided to go to the gym. Holland stated, “He’s such an inspirational dude. I was like, I’m going to the f**king gym.” Well, Johnson does have that kind of a hold on people, doesn’t he?

When GQ’s story hit social media, there was no way the news wouldn’t reach Johnson. Replying to the outlet’s tweet mentioning the fact that Holland looked up to the WWE legend, he wrote, “Very cool.” Johnson then went on to praise Holland calling him a good friend. He stated that the actor “elegantly” handles his fame and success and that he is looking forward to working with him soon.

Holland replied to his tweet stating, “Thanks big man. Let’s find something.” As of now, Johnson and Holland have not starred in a project together but if they ever decide to do it, it will surely drive the fans crazy!
