Having played the role of Ginny Weasley, one of the most beloved characters from the book series, and become iconic, her performance in the role seems to have certainly followed her through the years. Despite this, her public image has not stopped her from advocating for and taking part in things that she is passionate about.
The actress is an outspoken activist, having used her power and influence in the best way to help the causes she believes in. Wright is very passionate about environmental justice, advocating for the environment, and helping save the planet as much as she can.
It would seem, however, that there is one specific part of this fight that has her more concerned than others; plastic and the effect it has.
Bonnie Wright’s Fight With Coca-Cola
Bonnie Wright has been very vocal about the pollution that comes from single-use plastic, and how much harm it does to the world. She took this fight to the next level in 2017 by attacking one of the most successful companies in the world and also allegedly one of the worst producers of plastic pollution—the Coca-Cola Company.
Joining hands with Greenpeace and 585,000 other people who were in the fight with her, she challenged the soda company and how much alleged damage their single-use plastic does to waterbodies and those who reside in them.
“I’m happy to stand with the more than 585,000 people who are calling on Coke to phase out its use of throwaway plastic bottles,” said Bonnie Wright. “The company has the power to take the lead and set new standards of sustainability across the industry.”
She asked the company to stop its use of such packaging to help the environment heal as much as it could. She also asked them to use their influence to set an example for others, much like she does herself with her power.
