When Emma Watson spoke to British Vogue, she brought many interesting aspects of her career to light. The actress whose performance in The Wizarding World movies is still praised to date revealed that sometimes many people including her close ones forgot that she was not Hermione Granger in reality. She just portrayed the role but deep down she also has her share of joy and sorrow in her life like the other common people around her.

“I’m not. And I’m also not what, weirdly, my name has come to mean. Even people that are really close to me sometimes can’t let it go. Or see just me. And then sometimes I have to go, ‘No, no – I need exactly what you need. I’m just as human as you are. I’m just as insecure as you are. I struggle just as much as you struggle.'”

Emma Watson’s case proved that fame can sometimes also cause trouble to the stars. While it may look fascinating to the general audience, it has its positive and negative consequences. The Beauty and the Beast actress added that she has a separate identity outside the life of Hermione Granger.

While the 2019 Greta Gerwig directorial Little Women was the last film of Emma Watson, the actress was spotted in HBO Max’s Harry Potter 20th Anniversary Special in 2022. The actress took a temporary break after stating that her profession was making her feel caged. In an interview with Financial Times, the actress stated.

“I wasn’t very happy, if I’m being honest. I think I felt a bit caged. The thing I found really hard was that I had to go out and sell something that I really didn’t have very much control over. To stand in front of a film and have every journalist be able to say, ‘How does this align with your viewpoint?’ It was very difficult to have to be the face and the spokesperson for things where I didn’t get to be involved in the process.”
