With Margot Robbie in the lead role, Barbie was bound to be a success. Director Greta Gerwig created a masterpiece satirical on patriarchy and what the other half of the population goes through every single day. With the film being a highly original concept, producer David Heyman told Deadline how the movie became successful.

“One of the reasons the film has done so well is because it’s original. There’s a real hunger for originality. Greta Gerwig is a singular artist, she pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in the most collaborative way. The film is fun, thematically rich and very moving. It was challenging, of course, but when we made it, there was a spirit of fun that permeated the production”.

Costume designer Ivana Primorac revealed that “Barbie Margot had more than 30 costume and hair changes” throughout the movie which just shows the dedication of the team behind Barbie. With high ratings and box office domination, Barbie is available to rent on Apple TV+ in the U.S.
