While fans expected Dwayne Johnson to feel disappointed some more, after James Gunn shelved the Black Adam sequel, the actor shocked netizens as he expressed some regret about endorsing Joe Biden. Claiming that he won’t repeat the same mistake this year, for any candidate, Johnson shared his decision via Fox News.

Dwayne Johnson Seemingly Regrets Endorsing Joe Biden

Following the release of Black Adam in October 2022, Dwayne Johnson was excited to continue his work on the DC project, after his film garnered overall positive reviews. But unfortunately, as James Gunn became the CEO after DC Studios’ change in leadership, he shifted his focus toward other projects, which led to Johnson’s Black Adam sequel getting dropped. Following this decision, Johnson seemed to throw shade at the studio’s exec, while expressing his frustration.

Black Adam got caught in a vortex of new leadership, and at the time, as we were creating Black Adam, developing it, shooting Black Adam… it was so many changes in leadership,” Johnson stated on Hart to Heart.

Although it still remains a mystery what happened to the Black Adam sequel, Dwayne Johnson seems to have overcome that regret. Now, in recent times, he appears to have shifted his life’s deepest regret towards another thing. Sitting for an interview with Will Cain on Fox News, the actor opened up about regretting his decision to endorse Joe Biden in 2020.

The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time. I thought, ‘I’m in this position where I have some influence and I felt it was my job then to exercise my influence [and] share: This is who I’m going to endorse.’

Addressing his previous reasons behind endorsing Joe Biden, Dwayne Johnson appeared to regret his decision. It seems the actor has now learned his lesson.

Johnson Won’t Repeat the Mistake as he Learned His Lesson

During the interview, Dwayne Johnson noted that since he truly regrets endorsing Joe Biden in 2020, he won’t be repeating the same mistake. Discussing the result of his endorsement that caused an “incredible amount of division”, Johnson claimed to realize his mistake. Stating that he will keep his political choices and opinions to himself, the actor promised: “there will be no endorsement”.

I’m not going to do that. I was then, the most followed man in the world, and am today, and I appreciate that… but what that caused was something that tears me up in my guts — which is division. That got me. I didn’t realize that then, I just felt like there was a lot of unrest and I’d like things to calm down.

Expressing his deepest regret over how his political choices and decisions created chaos among his fans, Dwayne Johnson noted that he won’t repeat the same thing. No matter who the candidate is, the actor promised to keep his political matters to himself.

The takeaway after that was it caused an incredible amount of division. I realize now going into this election, I will not do that. My goal is to bring this country together. I believe in that. There will be no endorsement. At this level of influence, I will keep my politics to myself. It is between me and the ballot box.”

Following his comments, the actor was asked whether he is happy with the state of America right now, and surprisingly Dwayne Johnson replied, “no”. To which he was asked if he would run for president to bring in his desired change, and yet again the actor offered a response in negative.
