Delving into extremely intimate moments, the Australian actress unveils fertility struggles that she experienced before welcoming her daughter, Royce Lillian with her fiancée Ramona Agruma by her side.
Agruma and Wilson first went public with their relationship in 2022, with the pair getting engaged earlier last year. While her blissful life is a result of years of struggles that she went through in earlier years, she is candidly touching all the sensitive strings with her new memoir.
Rebel Wilson Talks About Her Fertility Struggles in Her Memoir
Rebel Rising is going to unveil her deepest secrets that she kept away from the spotlight for years. Rebel Wilson has been vocal about her fertility issues that she has been dealing with for a while. Ahead of its release, PEOPLE unravels one of the biggest bombshell details about her personal life.
Back in 2020, a fertility doctor informed her about having a better chance of harvesting quality eggs if she shed some pounds. However, even after losing 80 pounds weight, her case was complicated.
The doctor told her that the embryos didn’t “appear strong enough” to be viable which she had created with a sperm donor. That must have been devasting for her as she wrote in the memoir,
“I feel such sadness. I’m so alone and I don’t know what to do.”
However, she didn’t give up on the idea of enjoying motherhood, which eventually yielded fruitful results. After another cycle of egg harvesting, the “last viable embryo” was transferred to the surrogate.
Speaking about being a mother, she shared,
“She opens her eyes, and she looks at us. We’re a family now.”
Wilson finally welcomed her baby daughter, Royce Lillian in November 2022 with her fiancée, Ramona Agruma being her support in every step.
Rebel Wilson Talks About Motherhood!
Wilson’s journey to motherhood had never been easy, which she herself acknowledged last year. Talking to the outlet, she feels that Lillian’s entry into her life is a miracle, “I really do think it’s a bit of a miracle it happened.”
Talking about her fertility journey, she added,
“I’d been through quite a bit on the fertility journey for a few years but I was like, ‘Wow.’ Now I look at it and I have a family, I have an instant family kind of thing and little Roycey is amazing, she is such a little angel.”
She further added how motherhood has been “so hard” for her. She continued,
“I think maybe you’re a little bit disconnected having the surrogate and not going through the pregnancy but that was my best option medically when I only had the one embryo left so I was like I’m gonna go with what they say is the highest percentage rate of success. Motherhood is so hard, I have so much respect for all the mums out there.”
Her memoir is going to give a better depth to her motherhood chapter, among other things. Not just on a personal level, she has also included her professional journey, including working with Sacha Baron Cohen while filming The Brothers Grimsby.
Rebel Rising is out on April 2.
