“The waitress asked him, ‘Aren’t you one of the actors?'” She remembers. “Tom said to us, ‘Please tell her not to ask me any questions. I’m still in character.'”

While the two were seated, the waitress who approached them recognized Cruise. She asked him about who he was and Cruise very nonchalantly stated that he shan’t be asked anything purely because he was still in character. His fame stood out to be much stronger than his wanting to talk with fans who just wanted to ask him simple questions. “He screamed, ‘I don’t want to be in the teen mags,'” Berlin said. “He had told me he considered himself an adult, not a teen idol. He threw the album hard at me and it hit me on the cheek.”

She recollected how he got furious about becoming an up-and-coming teen idol. Cruise picked up the album and slammed it away with it unfortunately making contact with Berlin’s cheek.
