Roman Reigns has been the undisputed champion of WWE for quite some time now, and his time in the squared circle has been nothing short of legendary. Even on the recently aired WrestleMania 40, Reigns gave an incredible performance along with the Rock when they defeated Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
While fans and audiences are applauding his win, Reigns shared a pretty disheartening update regarding his cancer diagnosis. Diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia, the professional wrestler has been in remission for a long time and revealed that he is still on oral chemotherapy.
Roman Reigns is Still on Oral Chemotherapy
Cancer for many is a life-threatening diagnosis, that can put anyone in jeopardy. And a cancer like Leukemia is a horrendous disease to have. Yet Roman Reigns is not deterred by it, and unlike others, he continues to push forth fearlessly.
First getting diagnosed when he was just 22, Reigns has a rare form of leukemia called CML. After not being able to follow through with his initial plans of playing Football, the now-WWE champion followed the path of his father and signed up with WWE.
However, the cancer once again returned in 2018, making Reigns take a 127-day break from the ring (see Sager Strong Foundation). And ever since then, Reigns has been on Oral Chemotherapy, as he recently revealed during WrestleMania XL Press Conference.
“I’m still on oral chemotherapy, it’s a medication that I’m going to have to remain on my entire life most likely. It’s just a part of my personal battle.”
Even in the recently aired A&E documentary Reigns touched upon his battle with the disease and revealed how disturbing his 2018 diagnosis was. But stating that adversity is a key ingredient to any success story, Reigns has remained adamant to continue.
While fans seem to be worried about his health after his oral chemotherapy revelation (see X), Reigns stated that, fortunately, the partial remission does not affect his performance.
Roman Reigns Cancer Revelation Shocks Fans
While it is no secret that Roman Reigns has had cancer ever since he was young, the recent revelation that he will probably have to take oral chemotherapy for the rest of his life has left fans shocked. Although the WWE champ remarked that he is in remission, fans wished him the very best and declared that this is why he is the true GOAT.
